  • I just got back from Peru about 3weeks ago and my friend took me to a big park in el Centro de Lima and told me that the event is held there.

  • @ikebanaJc Sounds about Right ...Its held at a big Plaza ... But you'll have to Google for details ...

  • @Akuaba1 > Its heartbreaking ... We are the best cooks in the world, but I''ve worked for decades in Marketing and I know no other country as deficient as Peru (with regard to self)... i could write a book on the topic...

  • So does anyone know what time of the year this festival is held in Peru and where in Peru??

  • @ikebanaJc >> Ehh Que ???`You mean the Food Fair ? It is now called ... let me remember ... "Mixtura" (like the Spanish for mix ...) You can Google it at any time ... its generally held at the end of September... and the host "Gaston Acurio has multiple sirtes on FaceBook & elsewhere ... If you visit, I hope you enjoy our cooking... Runi

  • @ikebanaJc > as to "whhere" its actually expanding rapidly, so it used to be held in the capital Lima, but now there are events all over the country, like Arequipa or Cuzco ... I've even heard there was an event in Japan...

  • The gastronomy of Peru is of the most diverse of the world, since it is demonstrated by the fact that is the country with major number of local dishes in the world, adding these 491 and according to understood several it reaches a level equivalent to that of the French, Chinese food and India.

  • @bestiaccia > yes, purple corn (maís pinto)... it is the product of selective breeding (cross-breeding) by the incas. It is used to make a purple lemonade (chicha morada) and a sweet starchy porridge (mazamorra morada), both very tasty ... and of course colouful .... The game at the end is called Sapo (Frog), the aim being to throw a coin into the frogs mouth and get as many points as possible ... Great that you love this, thanks.

  • @chriscar25 > Funny ... Everyone always assumes that I'm a tourist in Peru ... My Family originally came from Trujillo & Arequipa ;-) I myself grew-up in La Planchada (near Arequipa), Chimbote, Pisco & only later in Lima ... But it is true that whenever I get a chance to visit Peru, eating rich becomes a main feature of the experience....

  • @Akuaba1 Do not worry:), i like that you were visiting our country:) in order that you eat rich jajaja

  • @chriscar25 > Thanks ... I wish I had more public videos from & about Peru ...
