  • @BartLCY10 If it weren't for immigrants and minorities, chicago would be a boring, cultureless, frozen swamp. Look at eastern european countries if you wanna see what no color does for a country.

  • Chicago before suburbanization.

  • My dad lived this life he worked at the Bismark Hotel and North Park Hotel Lincoln Park and Clark Street as the manager , the future Mayor Daley got the job for him.The hotel had 5 ballrooms. He met Jack Doc Kearns Jack Dempsey's manager there, it changed his life and took him on self directed journey A feature film is being made about his life-Dempsey Hovland,

  • Dear NLM: yes, the comments posted indicate something we hope is becoming as quickly utdated as the notion that Chicago is exclusively an Al Capone town. But calling someone a "racist piece of shit" doesn't really help the cause out, does it? If anything it shows that you're just as capable of sinking to the same level of reactionary, knee-jerk politics. I don't know...think about it, perhaps? Although this specific case calls for a strong reaction, you do yourself (and your cause) disservice

  • No minorities? Wow! The prejudice on the internet is startling! You do realize a minority founded the city of Chicago, you racist piece of SHIT!

  • @BartLCY10 No Minorties..........well aint that sham!!!

  • @BartLCY10 No obesity cause everyone smoked. Also, the daily grind provided more opportunity to burn calories (think absence of power-steering, or laundry day). Even so, I was in much better shape when I lived there, walking up and down flights of stairs in an old apartment building that always had elevator problems. More stairs at the el-stop, more calories burned in winters featuring sub-zero temperatures. You get the picture. I'm a fat, middle-age Californian now, and love it!

  • @bartLCY10 Make you wish for the good old days, right? But they are NEVER coming back. LOL

  • Oh, how the things have changed! Everybody dressed their best, no obesity, no minorities.
