"C'mon Marianne" und "Dear Delilah" die größten Hits der ehemaligen engl. Band der 60-er.

Grapefruit - Dear Delilah

Each night while watchin' dying of the day
I seem to find I hardly know my way around
Even with a crowd I'm on my own
Now she's gone, I don't know if I'm lost or found

You're bringin' me down, dear Delilah
I can't see you comin' around, dear Delilah
It's hard to realize and harder to see
And harder still when someone tells you
She wanted someone else that I couldn't be

You're bringin' me down, dear Delilah
I can't see you comin' around, dear Delilah

Wind blowin', and I'm falling with the rain
Was I too fast, too slow, or did the weather change

You're bringin' me down, dear Delilah
I can't see you comin' around, dear Delilah
And when you ask me if I need her, I do
But ask me why, and I can't tell you
I only know that she means so much to me

You're bringin' me down, dear Delilah
I can't see you comin' around, dear Delilah
You're bringin' me down, dear Delilah
I can't see you comin' around, dear Delilah ....

  • One of my favourites of the psychedelic late 60s. This song is just awesome! Great stuff!

  • Bass guitarist George Alexander (born Alexander Young), was a member of the talented Young family that also spawned his brothers George, the rhythm guitarist and founding member of The Easybeats and also Malcolm and Angus Young, both founding members of the Australian hard rock band, AC/DC.

  • Great record-when this first came out in 68[?] it was yet another sensational new sound of the 60s- as usual the digital version sounds tinny and the "phasing"effect is far more impressive on the original single-mine is old and scratchy but its still nearer to the real thing

  • @plep02 It's amazing to hear such good stuff from you guys. I still play music (well drums, actually) and remember our Grapefruit days with lots of nostalgia. Glad to hear that somebody likes it. Geoff S
