Here is a brief description of the "fix". I was told not to fire 5.56 ammo because "the ACR was not designed for this". Needless to say, I was completely baffled and not at all happy with this response. I did fire off 200 rounds of .223 Remington without any problems, however, as soon as I went back to 5.56 NATO it started to misfeed again.

  • Could ye not get a new bolt& barrel in 556 since magpul always bragged about how you could change caliber by swapping these out?

  • @TheOmniscientSpanner It's not the bolt and barrel. After working with Bushmaster for 4 months it was determined that the 5.56 cartridge was over-pressuring the gas regulator and causing the bolt to cycle too violently which resulted it the outgoing brass being caught and pulled back into the feed ramps. Just not enough time to eject properly. Modifications were made to the gas regulator and op-rod spring and the problem has been fixed.

  • @TheOmniscientSpanner Although interestingly, Spikes Tactical is making ACR barrels ;)

  • So i have been watching your videos and great job. I like the versatility of this weapon and wanting to order one? Do you think they have fixed it?

  • @killbilly4545 I am not sure if they have fixed the problem. I have shot about 500 rounds through mine since the "fix" without any problems so maybe it is taken care of.

  • Get a new gunsmith, he is an idiot.

  • @mattpkp I am referring to the smith at Bushmaster. Who do you think fixes the rifle when you send it back for service?

  • 223 and 556 are not the same they re very similar but not the same pressure makes a huge difference gun smith is not an idiot the Bushemaster ACR was built around the 223 the remington ACR was built around the 556.

  • @FMJxSKATER actually the 5.56 has a thicker case wall... due to the higher pressure in the 5.56 NATO round. This is why you can technically "run" .223 in a 5.56 gun (might need some gas adjustments) but should NOT run 5.56 in a .223

  • u didnt know it is supposed to fire a .223

  • HAHAHA ROUNG ROUNDS

  • @FMJxSKATER Lower psi

  • .223 is the same exact bulet with a thicker shell

  • The pressure difference is only based on what ammunition you buy. If you can get your hands on European rounds, which create more pressure when fired then this could be argued. Since the European standard to what firearms shoot and can take to shoot are more similar to NATO standards than the US civilian markets. If you buy American ammo which says .223 Rem, keep in mind that the 5.56x45mm is the same thing. That is just the metric conversion. Where as 5.56x45mm NATO is different.

  • Just outta curiosity, why did you choose the ACR? I think it has the cool factor, but very expensive and fairly new to the civilian market with other proven systems, with a smaller price tag. I'm not disagreeing with your choice, just trying to understand what I am missing? Thanks

  • Sounds like you gunsmith is a dumb ass...That is exactly what it was designed to shoot....that and 6.8 spec....The Masada wad designed to shoot 7.62 as well...

  • didn't you just say in an earlier video that you would trust the riffle with your life and gladly take it into battle and now this? LOL..

  • clean your damn gun and stop using shitty ammo......
