  • The P-26 Peashooteer was also the last American made fighter with fixed landing gear, an open cockpit and exterior wing struts. Planes of Fame flew our P-26A featured in this story on January 6th, 2012. This is one of two remaining authentic P-26A aircraft, and the only flying P-26A Peashooter in the world today.Watch the video on our channel. pofmuseum.

  • I think the shot at 3:36 was actually Lowell Bayles crashing in his GeeBee racer.

  • p-26 remained in service from the early 30s until just before America entered war. Good thing they did not use it because most fighters being used by other nations outclassed the peashooter

  • When the japanese invaded the Philippines right after pearl harbor, it was 3 to 3 by the PAAC(philippine army aircorps.)

  • You won't last long in that aeroplane around 1940. It's a thirties aeroplane.

  • Because Youtube is international and the guy that posted this video lives in Brazil

  • the p-26 peashooter is my all time favourite ww2 fighter.

  • why isn't it in english??

  • Great vid. A zero would eat that Boeing for breakfast. Those garish markings would show up 10 miles away!
