Cheers for the video. When a little windy, i get a cackling noise even when i put the genuine sony mic on to. You noticed any cackling? Anyway, nice to see the vid, shall disect daughters soft toys tonight for fur and try it out. ta.

Hi, Nice DIY can you let me know where can I buy a "sheet" of that fur ? tryed ebay it but can't find anything...

Try a fabric or sewing store. On eBay, search for faux fur. I've seen a few sellers with the material.
Also, as paulcan posted, you can get a cheap stuffed animal to cut open and make your screen, if all else fails.

How did you get your spoken audio to sound so good at 360p AND at higher bit rates? Your spoken audio is really very good and that's quite hard on You Tube.

This is the built-in mic on the zi8. I was less than a foot away from it when speaking. I ran the video through Handbrake, with the AppleTV setting for upload to Youtube.
The basic tip for quality is to be near you microphone. Most of the bad audio on Youtube is due to the speaker being far away from their mic.
