Najma Akhtar & Gary Lucas Live at WOMAD--"Soul Taker"

On Nov. 14 2009 Indian vocalist extraordinaire NAJMA AKHTAR and legendary guitarist GARY LUCAS hit the mainstage at the WOMAD Festival Las Palmas in the Canary Islands to present an hour devoted to their celebrated album "Rishte", a heavenly East-West fusion of blues roots, Indian music and psychedelic guitar (World Village/Harmonia Mundi). Accompanied by Sirish Manji on tabla, Akhtar and Lucas wowed the 5000 plus crowd with their live show and received a prolonged ovation at the end of their hour long set. @restlesspride666 . Hey, Najma is a superior vocalist who I love , but who is the burnout playing that noisy guitar, he stinks at indian music tell him to play rock or blues with typical screaming noisy singers. thanks. She's too good for that noise maker.
