  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY Wes!

  • One of my favorite guitar players. It's a shame he was taken much to soon.

  • What more is there to say. Beautiful.

  • If anyone out in the blogoshere has any vids of Wes or other greats...PLEASE post them for posterity so we ALL can learn and enjoy.......thank you.

  • Thank god these vids survive....there isnt much out there of Wes' live performances in Europe where he was adored and appreciated.....here in the good ol USA he had to dumb down his music for the dumb ass American audience that garner no sophistication whatsoever! Lets be real...there hasnt been great musical creativity in America in a LONG time.....at least we have the repsoitiries of the past greats like Armstrong, Montgomery, Coltrane, Gershwin and all the other geniuses that came before us.

  • Back in 1970 when I was 23, I went to Colony records in NYC near where I worked and went in looking for some good jazz guitar lp's.....a nice young asian sales kid hipped me to Wes and his brothers album called 'Beginnings'...a 2 record set....so I bought it and that was first REAL exposue to the genius of Wes and Buddy and Monk.....sadly that 2 years after he passed away....now in the last few years I am playing their music constantly and always enjoying it more!

  • Regards to all the Wes fans worlwide from Venezuela (Fuera Chávez).-

  • ohhh my goodness simply great and clean power music...

  • @LeleMelo78

    I did.

    - but it didn't help much.

My right nut goes into hiding whenever I get my guitar out.

  • God bless the Wes memory and thanks a lot for share it...
