I am a river guide and ........ you HAVE to have momentum to crash a hole that big, there was plenty of weight in the boat and if you had been paddling you would have busted out easily! that hole does look big enough to hold anyone, the trick is to relax and save your energy for after the hydraulic, panicked people sink, and panicked rafters tend to stay under long- thanks for posting:)

i went rafting in a class 3 and our raft flipped over, we all fell out, and we all just let the rapids carry us to an eddy.

did bad place today... :P because of the new dam they're building it's no longer the last rapid... but it's the last before you stop for lunch... i got caught in it for ages! it was amazing! xD i hope to god i get to do it again... what company did ppl go with? i used nile river explorers

@dmgcat go to north carolina and go to brookside camp ground and they have a very good place ther with a good price

Rafted Bad Place last year. That was so crazy, just panic and horror because you couldn't do nothing inside that fucking big washing machine. Great memories :)

Not that much if you can get to Uganda. Think it was about 100 dollars?? Expensive bit would be getting to Africa I guess...worth every penny though.
I'll probably raft again one day if the opportuity arises!

i think they flip em in this rapid on purpose everytime. ive seen dozens of vids of boats flippin on this rapid. looks like a safe swim...

The thing is the raft never flipped! This made it worse as you didn't get that pocket of air underneath. Instead we were stuck in the hole same as the raft (except under water) not knowing which direction was up . Even when you broke the surface you were sucked down again before you got a good lungful of air.

It's the White Nile, in Uganda. A place called Jinja, just up from the source of the Nile. Supposedly amongst the best (worst!) white water in the World, and after this I'd have to agree!
