Ok, white balance is one of the best automatic features in 7D, but if you want good tips to shoot 7D, you just watch the DSLR VIDEO EDUCATIONAL on B&H, and you will see the real potential of this camera. Of course manual shooting is the best option, but remember full manual control, and then you won´t need any post correcting in Vegas, by the way Vegas 10 pro is a better way to edit. Regards!

does the 7D record video RAW for better editing? or just .mov?

Hy, video from 7D, is just MOV, 1920 x 1080, enough for editing, believe me.

I have Canon 7D and Vegas studio suite. If I shoot in the wrong white balance, is it best to edit it or reshoot? My trouble is I can never decide which balance looks good on set. They all look friggin white to me :((

Yes, it´s got mini HDMI output, it would do great in your macbook only a fast one, remember 1920 x 1080 24p or 30p MOV files are hard to play if your computer does not have good graphics performance, good luck and you won´t regret buying this little monster

Thank you again for another reply. Does the 7D connect to a directly hdmi tv for playback? does it edit well on macbook? sorry for all these questions, I just don't want to make a mistake with what I'm buying :)
