Just a quick video response to all the people who thought my trigger torture test should have involved snap caps. Here's a description of the firing pin block, the firing pin that's captured on the sear, and the fact that if a Glock "goes off", then the idiot holding it pulled the trigger. Period.

  • I've read that in some cases model17 Glocks used extensively have a problem where the firing pin safety wares down the pin and causes the pin to jam, in the protruded position causing the gun to fire full auto uncontrollably until the magazine is empty.

    Can anyone confirm this?

  • @Andreask93 I can confirm it's impossible. As the slide moves back forward, chambering a round, the striker lug of the firing pin also catches on the cruciform section of the trigger bar and is forcibly pulled back into the channel (or halted as the slide continues forward).

  • I agree with you but don't disrespect Army folks

  • @stephensonian I don't feel I disrespected Army folks. I took part in some friendly inter-service rivalry. However, I will gladly point out that the particular soldier who called me a pogue also happened to be a moron with no clue about how the Glock actually operates internally.

Being in an MOS that gives you trigger time doesn't mean a damn thing towards being an armorer, or having a clue. That's on the individual.

  • potentially stupid question... when the slide is locked back and I release the slide with the slide release lever on a empty chamber, will that damage the pistol?

  • Nope! And no worries about the question being "stupid". There are a LOT of myths out there, and how else will you know unless you ask?

Let me suggest you not use the slide lock, though. I'm a big fan of using my support hand to go over the slide and pull/release. Do it hard and violently- just like the gun would if it were chambering a round. You won't damage anything. And dry-fire to your heart's content!

  • thank you so much for setting these idiots straight there are far to many people that dont understand how a glock works they dont malfunction its just a moron holding the gun . anyways i appreciate all your vids to educate people and hope they can give up their xd's and xdm'x hah i also carry a glock 19 daily

  • Dude it look like a "accidental" firing with a Glock is like hitting the lotto (mean 1 chance out of 1 million) !!! lol

great vid ! and why would Glock be the number 1 firearms issue for law enforcement in the WORLD if they was that dangerous????

for some reason I feel that glock in 2080 will be like the 1911 now .... : still around!.....

    take care

  • The only way a glock could accidentally go off is if the chamber was torched and the round was cooked off. The trigger was pulled by something "not necessarily a finger". Or the gun has been damaged or parts modified or removed to the point where normal function is not achievable. I love my 21SF. I also love other handguns guns like My 1911's. all guns have pros and cons the glock has both pros and cons. Reliability accuracy and durability are in the pros for glocks or at least in my experience.

  • Thanks for that.

  • HUA Air Force

  • just an irrelevant thing i noticed but at :31 a little light comes from nowhere then flys into your ear..

  • @floatingaxehead Thanks, I'll do a bit more research but at least i have the opinion of someone who knows what he's talking about.

  • I just got out of the Air Force as a cop/armorer/CATM, you'll know what I mean. Love the torture test. Just bought my first handgun (all the others have been family guns) and got a Glock 23 due to my small hands. So glad I know without a doubt I can get dragged by a truck, run over, sandblasted and still put rounds in my assailant. HEHE

  • @sean2070 Higher ASVAB scores. Not "hire", or you just proved my point. ;) But then, us Chair Force weenies really have nothing better to do than worry about spelling and grammar as we sit at our desks, complaining that our office only has the basic cable package and no premium channels... LOL. I kid, I kid. It's all service, and it's all good, as long as we're friendly when we give each other crap. Truthfully, I tip my hat to you, sir. (Though Chuck Norris was Air Force... lol)

  • This a good video
