Raymond Johnson was diagnosed with breast cancer after experiencing chest pains, and subsequently applied for Medicaid so he could seek proper treatment. To his shock, he was denied coverage for the sole reason that he is male. Over 2,100 American men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, and while that's drastically less than the number of women diagnosed, it's patently absurd that the federal government should discriminate based on gender. Disease is disease is disease.

  • The U.S. health care system AND government is such a complete joke. They couldn't care less about anyone, even people that are sure to die without care. Ahhh the "good 'ol U.S.A." huh folks?

  • @Tommyr America is like a corporation--the individuals within the body care very much, but the body itself is a senseless mass of red tape concerned only with the bottom line. It's a wonderful, rewarding place to live, but it gets very very frustrating.

  • wtf? This is blatant discrimination! Aren't we all supposed to all be treated equally regardless of gender?

  • in a word sexual discrimination

  • Nauseating example of bureaucrazy.

  • @Zaunstar here in Australia they're entitled to healthcare anyway regardless of socio-economic background, everyone has health insurance, the public sector is massive here, here a trip to the hospital and the local GP are covered, some specialists however are not and that's where private health insurance comes in

  • @irishgodfatherchris Yes, I almost said that same thing, but wasn't sure.

  • @Zaunstar if memory serves me right 1 out of every 10 people diagnosed with breast cancer are men.

  • @Quintinohthree so is freedom of association but that didn't stop the banning of the Communist Party

  • That's awful. theamazingatheist also talked about this. Very sad. I'm no doctor, not even a doctor on youtube, but I know that men can also get breast cancer.
