how you work temperature with negative number

Fahrenheit makes sense in context. When Americans watch the news in the morning to see the weather the usual livable temperature range is between 0-100 degrees Fahrenheit (and with everyones obsession with scales of 10 I don't see why they would have an issue). Every 10 degrees is a different comfort zone and is actually quite helpful when we want to be specific on what to wear outside. We use it solely for this reason, its what we are used to and it makes sense to us for this purpose.

@grimwatcher It's not as bad as the imperial length scale, that just doesn't make sense at all. Can't imagine how that was like in elementary school.
"A train moves at a speed of 53 inches per second, how many furlong does it cover in 7,5 minutes?".
With what kind of madness are they torturing kids back there? ;-)

Maybe this could fit in the Math, Physics, and Chemistry section for Thermodynamics!

@grimwatcher: To be "different" from the rest of the world ..:-) .. my guess.

Why do we Americans do the things in the most nonsensical antiquated ways?
