  • i know i shouldn't say this, as we're not done corn, but i've never had to open it.. yet... they are easy to work on.

    though the 6 row claas head is a little hard to find parts for here.

  • Yeah we would love to have a 6950, but we only crop our own land and can't really justify the payment right now. most farms in our area use pull behind type choppers on a 150 to 180 HP. tractor. we were using a new pull behind ourselves,

    with a 3 row corn, and a 7' grass head, on a 220 HP. tractor. now it's 6 rows, 4 meters, 330 HP. also parked our dump wagon. It's no 6000 or 7000 but this is SO much faster!!

    we use an auger box for everything but corn.

  • just to opearate a 5830 in early `90`s...good machine even in the big heavy crops in ireland...guy i worked with still has deere harvester`s... 6950 now at moment...deere`s always easy to work on... used to hate the coffin box though under the 5830 on a wet day
