when it works, it does sanitize (but maybe not as much as I would like on the edges) and it maintains a clean floor. I would not recommend using it on a floor that hasnt been cleaned for a few months like I did. Mine used 1 cup of water for a large bathroom and kitchenette in my studio. I bought it used from goodwill for $7.99 and a 2pk of pads on Amazon for $12. Wouldnt spend more than $30 total unless it was new for $40 with a warranty. For the price, Im happy with mine overall :)
I heard some are faulty from the manufacturer.. read fixes include disassembly and reattaching a hose that sometimes comes off... especially if its hot in the tank and not making steam. Other thing to note, do not use tap/sink water... use distilled water! Tap/sink water has calcium and other minerals that will clog anything that produces steam (explains the white flakes on your clothes when you iron).
Hey Michelle, you need to pump it about 5 times when starting, then let it steam once more for 15 seconds. Then pump it as you push foward. You have to experiment with it. I love my Steam mop, but it needs to come with at least 5 pads. I have 8X5 kitchen, and one mop dirtys quick. yes, it's tiny, im poor and in a cheap tiny condo. lol
I have one it was free from the lift away FREE and it was the cheep ones IT WROKED AMAZINGLY!!!!!!! It was loud though cause all i heard was the SSSSSSSSSSSS and a whole bunch of stem,I saw a whole bunch of dirt on the cloth and when i used the 2nd one to see if it cleaned well i saw nothing on it! oh btw im 14 :3
