Athens Student Demonstrations

i am from Turkey and i am wondering whats going on in Greece why students are protesting? isnt a Greece rich European Union Country? This happened in Turkey in 1970's.

If the anarchists attack and vandalize government property (which belongs to everybody) then they attack also to their property because belongs to everybody.Anarchists are not part of everybody ?
So there isn't any problem. It is their choice to destroy their property :)

@demetristaliotis - By 'most people', I was referring to the fact that more people currently support ND (and thus their reforms) than any other party across the polls. Are the CS and CN gases the tear gases used for crowd control?

Typical response from a anarchist. The student protests do not support the anarchists or their actions. Unfortunately, the anarchists manage to taint the protesters' peaceful image. Make no mistake - the anarchists are a VERY small minority in Greece.

@MajinHurricane - You must not live in Greece. Many, many, many people support the PARTIAL privatization of education. Public education universities will remain public, and private ones will be allowed to operate as well.

Your way of thinking is just a way of saying "DEMOCRACY IS JUST A DICTATORSHIP OF MAJORITY". if the "majority" say yes, so the minority HAVE to say yes too (or they will be seen as a menace to the majority needs, even when the minority needs or desires are no real treat to the majority desires/needs). This what YOU call democracy I call dictatorship of majority...

What do you mean by 'most people' ?
And doesn't goverment property get vandalised by the excessive use of CS and CN gases as well?
