Spanning millennia, from Ancient Mesopotamia to modern-day Iraq, this feature-length special definitively surveys the rulers - both those beloved and those reviled - of this fascinating region.
The region now known as Iraq has always been, in many ways, world history's ground zero. From this rich territory sprang the earliest cities and empires, earliest armies, and earliest tyrants.
THE KINGS: FROM BABYLON TO BAGHDAD tells the story of Iraq through the history of its rulers, from Sargon the Great to Saddam Hussein. Maintaining THE HISTORY CHANNEL® standard for comprehensiveness and entertainment, this feature-length documentary explores the connections and relevance between ancient and modern Iraq and between Iraq and the rest of the planet.
Using dialogue drawn directly from primary sources - original texts of ancient records - THE KINGS depicts events in dramatic, living reenactments. Lush cinematography filmed on location frames the dramatizations and contemporary reportage. And interviews with the world's leading experts on the historical and current relevance of Iraq complete this authoritative portrait of the men who brought this fabled land glory and despair.
Today, as it has been many times in the past, understanding Iraq is central to the world's well-being. THE KINGS: FROM BABYLON TO BAGHDAD offers a thorough, thought-provoking view into the politics, personalities, government, geography, culture and religion of this all-important region.

  • @shnoepie1 Semite is Language, not Blood.

  • history channel is bullshit, this channel is owned by Freemason's. Alexander was not a great general of all time, in fact Khalid ibn Walid is one of the greatest general of all time, he was said to have fought around hundred battles, having remained undefeated this fact makes him one of the finest generals in history (no other general has achieved that in history).

  • This series is highly disinformation , they will not tell you the whole story about Iraq , Rome is rebuilding babylon in Bagdad and even world wide as we speak and they replaced Saddam with a double , 911 was done by Rome , Dirty world History Channel has Jesuit ties because all the universities are Jesuit ran , rewriting history like these series.. WE Never Solved WW2

Now we have to deal with it , Rome is going down ! Too many crimes are still unsolved and we have all the evidence.

  • Wow scary music and talk of blood and guts, That is not the real "iraq" as it is today called. This part of the world is the area where civilisation as we know it was born. This doc is made for the american market by the "history channel" who make such docs a ancient alleins. But why so much hate comments for "white europ people" huh? thats just like me saying shit about you arab people or african people and thats just racist. And racisim just breeds more racislim so lets show some love a chaps?

  • WESTERN PROPAGANDA IN THE END

  • @Blacknemisis It would be insanely expensive to do that. Show the black man and the brown man together. These producers are cheap but you can do better because you are rich producer.

  • In the bible and other sources it says that Nimrod the grandson of Kush which is blackman went out and started and founded Summer and Babylon. So why are they not showing that black africans starting and ruling the land.

  • Just want to say a few things here. 1. anything said in this documentary should be confirmed by independent fact checking due to history channels recent sharp decline in credibility (i.e ancient aliens) 2. i understand this video has a multi cultural multi faith appeal... lets not call certain holy books hateful and certain people or nationalities simple.if your comment offends the listener your, your words are likely to fall on deaf ears so whats the point?

  • Warning! this documentary is made for simple white american people! It doesn't give a good depiction of Iraq, espacially of the more modern times, so if you are searching for something to learn about this fascinating country, search further.

  • Why is Hulagu portrayed as an Europeon? He was a Mongol.
