An amazing performance. It's just such a shame that she's retired now.

This music is so strong that each time I listen to the section from 7'15 to 8'30, I simply stand still and get to a level of peacefullness which is so relaxing ! The absolute highlight for me is when at 7'42 the mood, which in essence is Beethoven's expression of his own frustration at becoming deaf (so I read), changes to a truly breathtaking beauty.

don't know much about classical music theory, but for me she is the among best, together with David Oistrakh. Very impressive, indeed ....

It seem Chung and her violin is one body. She looks as if she is meditating. Exquisite especially around 5:15 and on. Loved her Bach Chaconne on another Youtube channel from Germany.

Chung's violin sounds SOOOOO rich. It feels as if her violin is singing. Very moving to hear her playing this piece. Thanks for sharing!

All Beethoven's 2nd movement adagio are great. True true genius.......
I prefer Kyung Wha Chung's playing to Sophie Mutter. She does not exaggerate or overly accentuates notes and phrases. Her playing is very sensitive and has a natural and subtle beauty to her playing. I especially like how she does not overdo her vibrato.

Agree Fr3derick. Mutter kind of lost the plot with over exaggerations and ridiculous pppp's then sudden ffff's, and sudden no vibrato with just as sudden full on vibrato to no purpose. Chung's playing is ALWAYS musical and always with great taste. Her subtle passion is lovely here. Just listen to those beautiful high notes in this slow movement. Absolutely gorgeous sound.
