  • @b3yonc3LLLuva kick the dust up, why don't you

  • In his later years, John Brim was often asked during interviews how he felt about blues songs being "adopted" by rockers. He felt it was a good thing, and that if by hearing a "new" version the listener stepped back to hear some of the originals, then the blues would stay alive......constantly being "rediscoverd" by new generations of players and listeners.

  • @abluesboy Indeed.

  • no matter what, Roth did this song justice....without Roth, this song as well as others would be long forgotten....

  • @EVHguitarz Gone but not forgotten; Great job by Van Halen.

  • @bbutters2 Yeah I don't see why some people can't just enjoy both versions of these types of songs. Sly Stone said "different strokes, for different folks" and that's just how it is with the performers. The Rock guys add their own style and flair to the music because they always had such a passion for originals like this one. Glad Van Halen brought me here. No one can deny that Eddie Van Halen can shred a guitar to pieces

  • @abluesboy

    agree

  • It is great to hear the originals and then the improvised versions later on in the future... Where will it go?

  • sounds like the rapper ice tea lol!

  • @b3yonc3LLLuva You are crazy, the Van Halen version fucking kicks ass, not bad.....BADASSS!!!!

  • These blues guys were so effortless with the rhythm, rock musicians try too hard to get the same message across.

  • Ask Eddie which version he prefers.

  • Didn't recall that it was a cover by DLR until I read it in the comments.
