ACC Kids- Hero

ACC stands for Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum. It is a brain disorder that is considered rare. People are born with it and it means they are born without the corpus callosum (bundle of nerves that connects the two sides) in their brain. It causes many different problems, and the people with this disorder are either seen as highly functioning or not so highly functioning.

ACCAA is a corporation working hard to get the word out about this disorder as well as being a support system to ACCers and their families. We have a petition asking for media attention. This is the new video of kids with ACC. The songs used are Hero by Mariah Carey and Hero in you by KSM These pictures were given by parents and are all pictures of kids that werent in the last video.

My heart goes out to not only the beautiful children featured in this video, but also to the parents who had to face the heart-breaking news of the diagnosis. My daughter has parcial ACC with septo optic dysplasia, but amazingly has not so far been affected by it. She is nearly four years old, and appears to have a future ahead of her just like any 'normal' child. These kids with disabilities are even more special, and they all look so happy in the photographs.

Thank you so much for creating this beautiful video. Words cannot express my feelings when I saw my daughter Katie's beautiful face appear at 1:15 and those of all the other gorgeous children featured. I started crying at the beginning, right through to the end. What blessings they all are to us. Sadly our darling Katie passed away in June 2010 but her memory lives on in this beautiful tribute to our inspirational kids. What heroes they truly are .. each and every one. Thank you. ♥

am expecting a baby girl in DEC with agenesis of corpus callosum and inferior vermian hypoplasia of cerebellum and i just found out yesterday and she will be well loved and cared for

i am 31 and just found out I had this. i came out healthy so i never had any tests done. as a kid i was always labeled as clumbsy, dumb and tired. as i got older and it's progressed i was seen by a neuro dr. i now have weekly PT and OT. I use a wheelchair for outside my home to get around. i do have have severe seizures. however i have a lovely 9 yr old son, i am able to cook, clean, go out, etc...just have to make adjustments...
