1960s Classic Bouffant Hairstyle

This is my take on the very classic 1960's hairstyle, often seen on old Hollywood celebs like Mary Tyler Moore from the "Dick Van Dyke Show". There are many ways to create the "Bouffant" (hair piled high on the head and hanging down on the sides), but this is the simple old-fashioned way!

You will need:
Teasing comb
Hairspray (I use Tresseme, fine mist)
Pin curls, or your choice method to curl your hair
Bobby-pins

My mom did her hair just like this when she was in high school! She just watched this with me and loved the trip down memory lane. She said she teased her hair exactly the same way. I was looking through her yearbook and it's amazing how popular the bouffant was. I like the 60's style better than the updated modern version. It's more sleek and styled, rather than Amy Winehouse-ish. Thanks for a great video :)

I was just wondering, if I leave in the curls overnight then prep my hair like this in the morning, will it last me until night time (when the party that I'm dressing up for is on)? Can I revamp it if it's gone flat? If so, how?

@oxo0oxo Yes, it should last you until night time just fine! Mine always lasts me the whole day, and even the next day (although it's a different style by then)

As a guy (more or less your age) who also has a fascination (and preference) for almost anything out of the 1940's-1970's, I must say that I actually (but not surprisingly) admire a girl who has a genuine interest in the styles of the 1930's-1960's. In fact, I find it rather sexy...

OMG love your hair! I've always been a huge fan of this style, but whenever I try to search tutorials on it, people always get the bouffant confused with the beehive. This is just what I needed.
