I think all the CGI effects today, have dulled people's imaginations..There's no longer room to wonder 'how did they do that?" in movies, when you know that some computer regurgitated it...

Stop motion is so great. Willis O'Brien really believed that it was the best artistic way to bring giant monsters to the screen. Even though there's so many special effects today, he would probably feel the same.
