Kleman09, most people who somehow get their hands on railroad equipment, try to pass off cabooses for $500,000 at most. I've checked many places, and that $5 grand caboose must be a real bargain! Some of the people who sell this stuff are profit-hogging scoundrels, charging more than its really worth. But, nobody can afford to ship something the size of a small house, so we shouldn't worry that much.

Cabooses dnt cost that much. There were some for sale in Pennsylvania and they sold for only $5,000.

I know the Wisconsin & Southern restored one of the cabooses. Its on display with Soo Line # 1003 at the Wisconsin Automotive Museum in Hartford. Maybe those cabooses might be used for excursions too. Or be sold as caboose playhouses, if anyone is still rich enough to buy a 500 grand funhouse for their kids. Or they'll rust until they are sold for scrap/parts. Sad, I know. Thanx fur sharin'! 4 thumbs up!
