@n00borama He can't delete his photos cause he uses B&W film with a Leica MP, not digital.No way would he not take the photo if asked not to.He'd go ahead and take it regardless.

@atrayue U think his photos are washed out and uninteresting?Some are but he has some amazing photographs. His photos of Yakuza guys are amazing, eg, the pic of the guy lighting the cigarette of another is incredible.These images are lyrical and full of energy which is what constitutes all brilliant photographs.His Coney Island photos are fantastic too.I can definitely see why he is a Magnum photographer. Nothing sad about that at all.Do u take pictures?Are they any good?

@atrayue you sound like you have a grudge against him? i'm not a big fan of his work but you have to exept that it is different.All photographers should strive for orignality and thats what his photos have.whether you like them or not is a different story.

Bruce Gilden is a pompous ass! And...his photos are washed out grey specks with non interesting posing.
This is the level of Magnum Photography? How sad.

It's impossible to shoot this way in a coutry i live in ;) One can get his ass kicked violently for such a flash shooting in someone's face ;) Outstanding footage anyway. Or maybe it's just like Capa said: "if you're pictures are not good enough, you were not close enough" ;)

While I think it's a clever idea, there are many people who would take extreme offence to being photographed like this. Take some cultures that think photographs steal part of their soul... Me personally I wouldn't mind, but I wonder if he would delete the photo if asked?
