@Cerinth - I agree with what you are saying to a certain extent. I have mixed feelings about this song as he definitely makes a point about selfish, careless people. However, the U.S. is (for now) the most generous country when it comes to helping other countries during natural catastrophes (e.g, Haiti, etc).
His lyrics may be coming true given the current national debt total and credit rating of the U.S. I think it is not #1 anymore and God is moving his blessings elsewhere.

it speaks that absolute truth about americans these days. Everybody is getting so damn greedy and until we get what we want we dont give a shit about anybody else. We just are worrying ourselves and not "giving a fuck" about other people. That's what i get from the song.
