ActRaiser (SNES) - Kasandora

Gameplay video of ActRaiser for Super Nintendo (SNES). This is the desert/Egypt themed level Kasandora. The video starts in the simulation mode and then I enter action mode, playing Act-2.

ActRaiser is a great SNES game by Enix that combines side-scrolling action with a simple city-building simulation mode.

Uh... the boss of Kasandora Act 1 is really easy...

ExeggutorLover: Yeah, a lot of the bosses in ActRaiser are easy, especially when you consider the powerful special weapons you can use. Still a great game though, even if it's not very challenging.

tiggerjackson: You fly around as an angel. You're basically like God over the towns and you help the people out to get their cities established. In the action scenes, you take human form to fight off monsters.

@ZolRing for ignorant, unskilled kids, it did (including me, and apparently you, and just about everybody else it seems)

I played Actraiser 2 as an adult, and it turned out to be extremely good

it's just too big a change for a city-sim-dazzled kid to wrap his head around, and too hard a game for almost any kind of kid to get very far in--but for a skilled adult, a hard (but fair, and well-balanced) game is a rare treasure

@badjohnfaglie just play Actraiser 2--that game is a fantastically good platform action game, without any of the city-building

the angel needs a shotgun upgrade.

Ive never seen or heard of this game before. It looks great and the music is awesome. Must be rare.

I thought the knight parts were awsome, but didn'y' really care 4 the Angel parts. i have only played the first 3 Knight levels. Does anyone have a recommendation as to if the rest of the game is worth running through 4 just knight levels?

There are some heavy contenders on that 1, and i'm just talkin old-skool games. The themes from Mega Man (especially 2&3), the various Caslevania themes, F-Zero (Big Blue), Adventures of Bayou Billy (theme and end songs), Journey to Silious, and some of the Street Fighter themes are all cult classics. There R some sweet renditions on Youtube if your into that kind of thing. My page has playlists w/ a lot of them.
