Boo City was formed in 2009 as the brainchild of long time friends vocalist Tai Awolaju and guitarist Andrew Moon Bain. Singer/songwriter's in their own right, Awolaju and Bain previously played in different projects nationally and in Providence, RI . After a simultaneous performance hiatus they came together and pooled resources to form a musical force to be reckoned with. Joining up with Drummer Carey Bowman and Bass player Harry Milloff, both with whom Awolaju has played with in other outfits, they found a true musical chemistry. Bowman's hard hitting, pocket driven drumming fit perfect with Milloff's funk and blues inspired bass playing. After their initial meetings they realized the potential for more. As a prolific and notable record producer, Bain called in session musicians Frank Moniz (saxophone) and Greyson Farmer (trumpet) to put 'the brass in the Boo'.
