Ten middle-school students from across the U.S. were in New York recently for the finals in the annual Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge. The finalists, ranging in age from 8 to 14, were vying for the top prize: the title of "America's Top Young Scientist" and $50,000 in U.S. savings bonds. VOA's Carolyn Weaver has more.
