  • FACT- ABRAHAM LINCOLN WAS A REPUBLICAN AND HE WAS THE PRESIDENT THAT FREED THE SLAVES A REPUBLICAN NOT A DEMOCRAT.

  • @hipstermi You can't blame christianity on everything.

Im an Atheist and the Socialist/Equal rights movements in the west were also lead by religious people and centered around religion. Christians in Canada lead the struggle for the welfare state in Canada and we have that fellow Martin Luther King Jr.

  • @danksmokers ok but abraham lincoln said he wanted to send black to africa. flash news in those days all president were racist because most people were racist but you are right democrats are so racist they elected a black man as their leader

  • @pcgamernum1 Liberal? Hitler wasn't in favor of free trade and personal liberty...

Oh you Americans and your definitions.

  • @rmcdaniel423 No need to get angry and emotional because the facts dont fit your utopian left-wing ideology. Ad hominem like 'warhawks' is almost always a sign of an intellectual deficit. You sound very naive and seem to suggest that force cant be used for good and that pacifism is the most enlightened policy. I recommend you read about the inter-war years to see how conducive that ideology was to peace, only resulted in 50-70 million deaths.

  • Blacks are all for equality and social issues.

They see the struggle of gay's equal to the struggle of blacks.

If Republicans went for a more Pro-Homosexual move they would win blacks and minorities in many different area's.

Ron Paul is winning Black voters and Young People for a reason ;)

  • Bro. The 70-80s changed the Republican Party...

  • @Wyattinmnk An ideology can be destroyed by force like Nazism, Italian fascism etc so I think you are wrong about that, and it wasnt economics that ended chattel slavery it was the civil war. Never said slavery everywhere was the fault of white people, or that white people were most culpable. Thomas Sowell has written about this. Democracy is an idea, and most democracies come from coercion, war, or some form of force: US, France, UK, Germany, Japan, Ireland, etc

  • @spader49 Racism is separate from slavery. People like to forget, before the introduction of the African slave market, provided by Africans conquering one another; slaves were mostly white. You don't eliminate slavery by eliminating racism. Economics would have eliminated slavery, but not racism. Racism is just an idea, and you can't win an intellectual argument with coercion. You can kill all the people with the bad idea, but the idea eventually comes back.

  • @spader49 So be it. You can be the winner. Bring on the guns and gore of self-admitted imperialism. Apparently it's the only solution.

    Cheers.

  • @Wyattinmnk Many northerners were racists, most in the South were, Lincoln would be considered a racist fanatic by todays standards, didn't believe in slavery but didn't believe in a multiracial society, thought blacks were inferior, and wanted racial apartheid 'But for your race among us there could not be war, although many men engaged on either side do not care for you one way or the other' (1862). The point is economics would not make tolerant people, or get rid of racist mores.
