In this episode I interview one of pioneering researchers into the ancient sacramental use of Cannabis (aka "Marijuana") - Chris Bennett.

Chris Bennett is the co-author of Green Gold the Tree of Life: Marijuana in Magic and Religion (1995), and Sex, Drugs, Violence and the Bible. He has written articles on the history of cannabis for High Times, Cannabis Culture and other magazines and managed www.pot.tv from 2000-2005.

  • The Amanita Muscaria is definitely implicated when Moses confronted the burning Bush and received the Ten Commandments. The Amanita looks to be on fire. Moses took off his shoes because the ground was sacred. The mycellum which is the mushroom plantthe mushroom itself is only the fruit, would have been under his feet and therefore the ground was sacred. When Moses descended his face was aglow which is an effect of Amanita ingestion.

  • I have truly learned much from Chris Bennett. He is a kind and knowledgeable man and sitting with him and listening to him is like a wonderous stroll down the road of cannabis history.

  • salamander is the being of fire. Represents the fire element which is will/passion or of a spiritual nature of transformation.

  • Chris Bennet is so great. The ancient world was awash in plants like shammans use today. Once rule of law took hold it was possible to keep these things for priests and kings alone. Confescating the sacraments by force is the perrennial battle of authority.

  • yep. interesting indeed.

A theory no doubt slammed by the majority of bible fanatics.
