Thundercat's debut full-length is a fantastically modernized tribute to the strain of jazz fusion that was coming out in the late 70s and early 80s. From George Duke to Jaco Pastorious, some of the genre's best and brightest musicians maintain a legacy through albums like this.

Though I was a little disappointed by the overall length of some of these tracks--c'mon, two minutes--the style, musicianship, and production are all great enough to keep me coming back to this release again and again.

What do you think of this album? Love it? Hate it? Why? What should I review next, eh?

  • Bruner is his last name lol

His older brother Ronald Bruner Jr. is gonna be coming out with a album too (BTW he played drums on some of the LP and he played for Stanley Clarke lol)

Be on the look for it!

  • Quit knockin' brainfeeder in ur reviews. Samiyam you didn't really like and Thundercat you like of course but still would like to change this or that. Sam Baker shit was dope as hell and lived up to the hype 4 the most part and the thundercat shit is incredible. I think that ppl expect or look 4 shit/drops/w.e a little too much sometimes. Like lookin 4 the music to blow they hair back instead of just listening and feelin the music and tryin to see/hear shit from someone else's perspective.

  • I loved this allbum

  • I imported my copy from the UK, because i coudn,t find a copy in The Netherlands.

Today my copy finaly arrived!. I recomend this album to al people. It,s amazing....but to short(only 38 minutes!)

  • SFUCKIN GOOD THATS GOOD

  • After really getting into this record all the way and then watching this review, I'm actually pretty surprised how much we differ. I think the tracks with vocals are the best on the record, and I love how long it is. Perfect time.

  • Review the album "A Sucker For Pumps" by Tiron & Ayomari They have a feature with tundercat and its dope. Im sure you'll love it

  • @christiantant yesterday's new quintet
