I was surprised when this showed up on our front porch!

  • Thanks, bedarda. I made the video hoping it would be useful to those searching for the right tent.

Enjoy your camping, brother! And you got it for a great price!

  • RKWW...sorry for the delayed reply.

I find fiber glass to be less reliable than aluminum. It's not as strong for the weight and splinters too easily. Good glass poles aren't terrible, but they weigh much more.

  • Thanks to all of you who found this vid helpful.

Update: Love the tent, but with a Queen-size inflatable mattress the interior shrinks considerably. Would prefer 2 or 3 cots. Maybe 4 cots. (only my wife likes an inflatable, I hate it! But it's worth the meals provided!)

This is, to me, a 2-man tent (with cots). I'm not a back-packer (but admire such)

Now I'm looking at a Paha Que series of tents and might give the Big Ag to my daughter.

  • Sorry, I don't check my Youtube mail very often.

pkfilseth: no, doesn't need to be staked down. It's free-standing. Ventilation could be better, but with the rainfly off it's excellent. Otherwise guy the fly out and there's a nice gap that allows air in.

Tell us about your family experience, Sveccha93!

I'd love to see some photos from all you Big Agnes fans!

    Peace/out, Rick

  • Thank you for taking the time to do this video. It helped me decide my purchase. Again, Thanks.

  • @addlotsapepper You're welcome. Glad to have helped in your decision! How has it performed so far?

Sorry I foget to check my Youtube mail. Just not too savvy when it comes to computers.

  • Thanks! Tons of room in my new Big House 6 (HumbleOutdoors $325 w/free footprint). My Queen air mattress has room to spare. Love this tent so far..thanks again for your video.

  • What's the story on your aversion to fiber glass tent poles?

  • Thanks a LOT Rick! I just bought this tent to go camping with my young family and am going to do a trial setup today...now I don't even have to think about it. Kudos.

  • Hi, thanks for the great video! I am considering buying this tent ... have no experience setting up tents, and this looks fairly simple and straightforward. :-) But I do have a couple of questions I'm hoping you can answer. Does it need to be staked down? Are there loops or straps for that? Does it need guylines? And finally and most importantly, what did you end up thinking of the ventilation? I'm looking for a tent for summer only, and expect generally hot weather, but you never know!

  • glad you found them. :)
