Realtor Eric Rojas brings us up to speed on the plans for a new residential / commercial development planned for the current site of a Sears parking lot on Lawrence Avenue, next to the elevated Metra line. Plans at one time called for a condominium tower, but Rojas believes the residential elements will be of a smaller scale. A Roundy's grocery store is also planned for the site.

  • Thank God. I live right there. That Sears is an eyesore. I can't wait to be able to walk to a grocery store. The only bad thing about this is that I will no longer be able to cut through the empty Sears parking lot to get to the train. Maybe this will force some of the shady characters that hang around Lawrence in the area to move on up the road to the other side of Ashland. That empty building across the street is a haven for homeless drunks. The ugly Chase building could use a facelift too.

  • Oh wow a VW ROCK ON and those plans sound awesome
