@TheAusrali My mother's boyfriend is a fisher and is all about catching fish, crabs, clams, ect. When he caught a crab, he put it on ice. I asked, why do you put it on ice?. He said, they hibernate when on ice. A couple of hours on the ice, I looked, they were not moving, they were sleeping. He grabbed one, put it in boiling water, it never moved. I asked, does it feel? He said the water was so hot, its instant; they never knew what hit them. So I've seen this happen and its true.

@TheAusrali Its not cooked alive; though it does go into the boiling water alive, when the lobster hits the water, death is instant. Like they never felt a thing. Now if you put a live lobster or crab on ice, they sleep. Pick up a sleeping crab or lobster, dunk it in boiling water; its like nothing happened to them.
