I have started to remove all the lids from te recorders I have, mainly to see how much space I need and how much space I have, it does look like it will be a squeeze to get all the machines on display and get the car in as well so I think I will require some stand alone deep shelves.

  • Incredible collection you've got there! But shouldn't you have some shades on the windows? Not only to prevent UV damage, but also to prevent some sort of rude action taken by various wondering malefactors.

  • Hello and thank you, yes there should be blinds, but at the moment, most of the windows are full of machines, the windows open into my garden so no one can actually see in .

  • Do you have any "ordinary" tape recorders, like something with a BSR TD2 deck for example, or would you look at that in the same way that Jeremy Clarkson might look at an Austin Allegro?

  • Clarkson does love to hate some cars :-) I do have a number of other machines such as the Ultra with the BSR deck, couple of ordinary Philips machines can be seen in these pictures, there's a few ordinary Tandberg's there too! At one point I had over 400 recorders, at the time I had cheap storage in a decommissioned nuclear bunker, but when I lost that, I had to downsize. I then decided t try and collect old and professional only but have low end machines.

  • You need my revox t26 reel to reel added to your collection :-)

  • A t26 would be nice, one day I will have one :-)

  • @Seblington After a bit of reading i found all magnetophons were available for sale in the wooden trolley like stands. Typically they called them F series, the FT4 is like a k4, but in a trolley and suited for office use.

  • Remarkable! Just goes to show I could display all my 50 or so machines if I had a garage :)

  • I uploaded it in 1080p but Youtube downsized it to 320, not sure why
