My friend Amy and I were practicing this tune at our family music retreat for the Sunday morning "gospel" at camp Westwind on the Oregon Coast. The tune is Rojhinkes Mit Mandlen and it was the one tune my Mom requested for me to play on my harp her last four days of her life. It was a lullaby her Mom sang to her and her sisters. Here is a synopsis of the words:
Under babies cradle in the night
There is a goat so soft and snowy white
The goat will go to market to bring you wonderful treats
He'll bring you Raisins and Almonds
Sleep little one sleep.
It is in my Shalom music book and you can check it out at
