Tim shows you a little secret about caulk guns in today's video.

Did you know that caulk guns come with a tool for cutting the tip of your caulk tube and a poker for breaking the seal? A lot of people don't realize that caulk guns come with these tools.

  • Tim, I just spend 20 minutes in my garage trying to figure out how the hell to open this damn thing. Cutting the tip I could figure out, but how the hell to break the seal? I almost ripped the whole plastic nozzle off to get at the seal. Glad I took 2 minutes to run inside to my PC. Thanks for the tip, you just saved me tons of heartache and frustration. Keep 'em coming.

  • @davegreenberg002 Thanks! You're exactly the reason I make the videos!

  • Very helpful. I would have just sliced the tip straight across, but cutting it at an angle makes a lot more sense! Thank you!! :)

  • @kuulei06 You're welcome! Glad it helped!

  • Is liquid nail caulk?

  • AAAAhhhhahahaha I knew about the needle to break the seal, but never noticed the razor to cut the tip. Brilliant!

  • I can't believe I never noticed that. Thanks

  • Wow..... A Swiss army caulk gun lol

  • Yes, yes! Brilliant! Subscribing :) Thank yoou!

  • Thank you for sharing! You could have kept this knowledge to yourself, watched others struggle, and used this your advantage. You didn't. Very inspirational:) I didn't know about cutting tool. Thanks again.

  • That's a really excellent caulk gun design. I must try and get one like that the next time I buy one. It would be an improvement on the ones I have.

  • @brownspider64 I thought he said that too! maybe he sends that to us at a later date, although looking at him I doubt he would do much for me. I checked a lot of the guns sold in the UK, none of them have any of those features or I would have used them. As for liquid nails, no real builder or joiner uses that stuff in preference to a correct and secure fixing.

  • Thanks, I will have to look at the budget caulk gun I have, I think yours is the deluxe model.

  • That is simply badass:) Great tip!
