the key is the streets.protecting self and family, the REAL UFC. where one can eye gouge, throat grab, balls-kick and elbow to the neck.I respect the UFCers, but it's unlikely one will be fighting in a soft-padded ring, which tends to take away from the structure and power needed for maximum w.c. power.

@kissoct666 Of course... at least until they throw the rule book away. Most WC reflexive attacks are illegal in UFC.... that's like telling a boxer don't jab or a kick boxer don't kick.

@chirunthruit - I think he means if you only use wing chun it's useless. Only an idiot would deny every martial art has some practical applications that can be taken into the cage, to stick to one style only though would be a big mistake. Wing chun v's mma, the fight go's to the floor it's game over. I think all mma fighters can learn something from wing chun though.

@kissoct666 what's useless in UFC? Kicking in the groin, throat strike, chop to the back of the head, eye jab, etc... These are some of the most powerful moves in WC and are banned in UFC. UFC fighters are well conditioned strikers and grapplers, but it's good for sports. True, the conditioning will also give you an advantage on the street. But then that has to do with conditioning, not with the style.

How about we setup a rule to ban ground fighting in UFC, then BJJ will become useless.
