This is my submission to the NIN Ghosts film festival. It is an original work using a combination of stop motion animation and time lapse. It is based on the theme of vanity and the reduction of all things to their most superficial level.
The symbolism intends to say that those things we hold as sacred keep us blind and trapped. They are just things, and are no substitute for the meanings behind them. The humanity behind the symbol cannot be destroyed by the symbols destruction. We must let go of our attachment to the physical and realise we are much more than we thought we thought we were.

  • what software did you use?

  • @djoiner22 it was Stopmotion pro software for the capture environment and magix pro for the edit environment, plus probably afew other bits-n-pieces I can't remember now, but those are the main two for that one.

  • hey...uhm...how jah make this kind of video??

  • How?.....it is stopmotion animation, so you build a puppet and a set then point a locked camera at it and move things alittle at a time, take a picture and then run all the pictures together with software so it appears to move.....sorry if that sound patronizing I was'nt sure what you were asking.....if you ask why do it ? then thats a different thing altogether and to be honest I have no idea! LOL.

  • Nice this has to be one of the best fan videos I've ever seen. Really good job mate.

  • Thankyou very much my dear

  • what is the doll made up for?

  • @lillylie79 awsome, really good stuff man. I was about to use after effects and see how that works but Im making a stop motion film for a class and Ive been trying to figure out what software is better.

  • NIce work. Thanks for taking the time to share your skills.

  • This is really nice work. Stop motion animation is a LOT of work. Kudos for putting in that kind of effort! I would think of Tool before NIN, but that's only because Adam Jones made so many stop motion videos for them. That's not really a reflection on you at all.

  • Very tasteful and sensitive.

  • NIN fav band but this vid wuz kinda boring kinda stupid although appreciate effort

  • lilly, you're brilliant! it's simply beautiful
