Approximately two out of three middle class families are at high risk of sustaining or losing their economic security. Too often, parents are being forced to make difficult decisions that affect their childrens well-being.

In response to these recent changes in family economics, Sesame Street has produced a primetime special, Families Stand Together: Feeling Secure in Tough Times. This hour-long special, hosted by Al Roker, Deborah Roberts and Elmo, aims to help families with children, ages two to eight, experiencing difficult economic circumstances by offering strategies and tips that can lead to positive outcomes for their childrens physical and emotional well-being during this tough economic climate.

  • I love how they say it's no one's fault. Of the American people, yes, Mr. Monster, but all the fault is solely on the politicians in the Capitol building and White House, and all the greedy companies out there.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song that Elmo sings with his family? It is really beautiful and touching.

  • The first family with the kid that said,"Most of the time." is my friend at my school so I support him.

  • @mohinderbauer Or any Barney merch for that matter.

  • I liked to see Elmo tell these families to save money by not buying his merchandise.

  • I really loved that song too! If anyone does know the song...please let me know...I keep singing incomplete bits of it with my son....and really want to hear it today

  • I would like to see this too, i have no way to actually use tv, cause like what they say, money is tight, so we cant aford tv.

we rent out rooms to people in our house for more money, but still its not enough.

so i would like to see this too

  • I just watched this actually. My wife was at work, I'm a stay at home dad like one of the families in this program - so my wife was at work when this was on TV.

This was so powerful that I hit the internet trying to find a way for my wife to later see it. If there is any way possible to view this online, or even be send a tape in the mail (I would happily pay) - please send me a reply.

This video could really affect our relationship durring these tough times :/
