Still I Rise (Maya Angelou Poem)

I started a project in which I take poems that I like and turn them into songs.

With your bitter, twisted lies,

Does my sassiness upset you?

Out of the huts of history's shame

Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
