To print in Black & White, go to preferences, choose fast economical printing, then there should be a color box, and scroll down, click black only. It should work...

@Abbytie Thanks! But that method only works for a limited time on Epson printers before it refuses to print again until you get a new cartridge... My friend told me her dad figured out that if you put a few drops of water in the colour cartridge it tricks the printer into thinking there's ink - unfortunately, I've already paid for a new flippin' cartridge...
