I have heard and read that they were the influence for the Belleville triplets, yes.

Does anyone know if the sisters in the French animated film "The Triplets of Belleville" were based on the Boswells? The resemblance is striking.

True. I wish it meant more to Americans - we tend to draw a veil over anything pre-dating World War 2.

That would certainly describe many Americans (and many people of other nations as well), including many older people I've known. If their comments on YouTube may be taken at face value, I'd say most Americans under 30 tend to draw a veil over anything pre-dating themselves.

@nauort23 I agree with that - When I tell people I listen to older music I get snickers and giggles as if I've lost my mind. They think when the artist dies that's the end of listening to them. There is a lot of great music from the 30's & 40's - Vera Lynn, Jo Stafford, Lee Wiley, Ruth Etting, Bea Wain, Helen Forrest and these great Boswell Sisters!

I'm 45, and have listened to older music most of my life, and unlike so much of the popular music of my youth, this stuff is what I come back to again and again. I wouldn't care if I never heard a song by the Police or the Cars again!
