Since at about 2 weeks I'm now tinkering with my Bill Paxton Playlist and I discover so many unexpected things. I always knew him only from those simple actionfilms, but then I saw some filmscenes only with him,and thought "That's an interesting actor". And now I think, there are many actors where I have good or bad prejudices, maybe I /everybody should sometimes try to look more closely, could be worth it.

...and probably also because of bad actors, who have no depth and feeling for the role. Nowadays films have become nearly 100% a "product", aspects like experiment, art, visions, taking the risk of failure, phantasy (with sense or without) are not calculable and probably not profitable for production companies (what a word!).They choose the actors in their sense, which makes us see more and more smooth, similar looking and very technical playing actors.

I tried watching this movie once, but sleep kept on intruding. If you are an insomniac, watch this for a cure

I can't argue that the concept can be done much better, I agree that these are the type of bad movies deserve a remake and not something like Robocop and Evil Dead.

You're right of course. It was made by the same guy who also did the original Tron, which was never the best story, but the concept stuck and became popular. But I still feel that the Slipstream concept is worthy. It just needs to be tackled right....

This movies pretty lame, aside for some appealing star actors like Bill Paxton and Mark Hamill, there's little to this movie. Just a hamfisted messiah.

If you think technology will fix any of the problems this movie has, than your missing the point of cinema. If a movie is bad it's not because of the lenses the camera uses or the budget that's gone into the sets and the special effects, it's because of the dumb script and really bad story-telling.
