In this video from February 5, 2008, Washoe County School District Trustees begin to debate priorties and develop a policy to to use capital funds for building new schools and Revitalizing older schools. Some Trustees wonder if Equity is even possible.
Washoe County School District is currently working with the SB154 Construction and Revitalization Committee to write a tax increase for the 2008 General Election ballot in November. The district wants to borrow $600 million for new schools, repairs to older schools, and technology upgrades. When added to the current debt of $475 million, the total debt for Washoe County School District will exceed $1.1 Billion.
