ALEX SCANER (*1981) is a very prolific Montreal artist. He has gained international recognition for painting walls throughout the past fifteen years.

FAKE - A brand you can trust is proud to collaborate with this important painter to present MONTREAL 2012, an exclusive exhibition of his recent works.

It was in the year 1996 when Scaner first got up. His territory: Montreal. He began learning about the graffiti movement with a multidisciplinary group: Delinquent Artists. More commonly known as DA, this group has earned a reputable position within the Montreal art & party community. As one of its most active graffiti writers, Scaner quickly became an established icon of Montreal's landscape. The artist has distinguished himself by refining his style, opting for flamboyant colours and choosing the locations of his graffiti strategically. Wanting to escape daily routine, Scaner turned to traveling to broaden his horizons. Mexico, New York, Paris, San Juan, Rome, and countless other cities now bear the signature of the artist. Today, his work is acknowledged across the planet and he also proudly represents the KG crew.

According to Scaner, graffiti should be in constant evolution, believing that in his turn, he can help change and shape its growth through his work.

This exhibition showcases the artist's ability and ambition to adapt from the public to the indoor setting. The strenght of Scaner's abstrations reveal the reason why his work is being featured, collected and appreciated by a growing number of museums, private collectors and galleries.

Scaner is part of the upcoming SATURATION2012 touring exhibition alongsides of Philip Cruz, Zeck One & Kems.

ALEX SCANER (*1981) est un prolifique artiste montréalais. Il est connu internationalement pour les murs qu'il peint depuis quinze ans.

FAKE - Une marque de confiance est fière de collaborer avec cet important peintre, en présentant MONTREAL 2012, une exposition de ses plus récentes acryliques sur toile.

C'est en 1996 qu'apparait la griffe de Scaner. Son territoire: Montréal. Il apprend la culture du graffiti avec un groupe pluridisciplinaire: Deliquent Artists. Plus connu sous l'acronyme DA, ce groupe acquiert une enviable renommée dans la scène de musique underground montréalaise. Comme l'un de ses writers les plus actifs, Scaner devient rapidement partie intégrale du paysage montréalais. L'artiste se distingue en développant son style, choisissant souvent des couleurs flamboyantes et ciblant stratégiquement les lieux qu'il peint. Pour échapper à la routine, il choisit d'élargir ses horizons à travers le voyage. Mexico, New York, Paris, San Juan, Rome et de nombreuses autres villes portent maintenant sa marque. Aujourd'hui, son travail est reconnu à travers le globe et il fait fièrement partie du collectif KG, Keep Going.

Selon Alex-Scaner, cette démonstration artistique doit être en constante évolution. Il souhaite via son travail, contribuer à démocratiser cette forme d'art en la rendant plus accessible.

MONTREAL 2012 illustre l'ambition et l'aptitude de l'artiste
à adapter son travail selon le support choisi, de la rue à la galerie. La force de ses abstractions révèle pourquoi son travail est de plus en plus diffusé et prisé par les musées, collectionneurs et galeries.

Au courant de la prochaine année, Scaner participera à l'exposition en tournée SATURATION2012, aux côtés de Philip Cruz, Zeck One et Kems.
