For the drum and percussion pieces William Johnson, and Skip Walker gave some abbreviated tips, practice applications, theory, and history as it applies to the particular drums played.

Skip Walker is a drummer, songwriter, producer and music educator who prides himself on embracing all musical genres. Starting out as a musical child prodigy in his home state of North Carolina, Skip journeyed to New York City at the age of Seventeen and began cutting his teeth in funk music after being recruited to hold down the drum chair for the legendary funk group "The Fatback Band." After touring Europe extensively with "Fatback" Skip moved on to study music at the prestigious Berklee College of Music where he won the Leonard Feather Scholarship Award.

Skip has released his first CD as a band leader entitled "Funky Café" with his band "Macrorhythm" which features guitarist Joe Lindsay (Calvin Richardson/Anthony Hamilton), Pianist Elmer Gibson (Norman Connors) and Trumpeter Ray Codrington (JFK Quintet) to name a few. The project is currently available on CD Baby, itunes and amazonmp3.com .

Skip is also a professor at Methodist University in North Carolina where he teaches percussion, jazz history, and religion.
