If you're 100% deaf, Why does the audiologist make you wear them? no point in it really, just trying to make money I guess. I can't read sign language. I'm 60% deaf.

I used to forced to take a speech class. Im 100% deaf too. and she forced me, then i had to fight back... how did i fight back to her? i did inored, wont listen to her. and run away often. she grab me and yelled in my face and i had to push or bite her arm also kick too.

Then i told my prinpical. about this and he sent me to home. and kick me out of school for few days. because of this stupid speech teacher. its happened to me for like 3 year. so i had to do same thing. then i got freed again.=D

i hate hearing aids too, i stopped at like 7 yrs old. I dont understand whats diff sounds..all sounds same to me.

Very interesting! I think the high schoolers should have the choice to wear hearing aids or not.... young children are at that age where they're still learning and absorbing sounds. By the time they're in HS, they are familiar with it and should decide if they want to continue wearing them or not.

I agree with you. It is wrong for audiology to force you to wear hearing aids. I have worn it since I was 2 years old. I'm very thankful that I have it so I can hear birds sings, and my wife talk!!

If its stated in the child's IEP... the team which includes the parents of the deaf child... it must be enforced.

I agree 100% it is not right for audiologists to force you to wear hearing aids. That is audism.

I had the same problem myself. Your story is VERY familiar with me, and it hit "home" in my heart. I stopped wearing hearing aids when I was 9 years old. I kept smashing them and throwing them in the toilet.

And my audiologist kept giving me new hearing aids, and I kept destroying them. Finally, one day, my audiologist said that her budget for the year was gone because of me. Sweet.
