Jessica Jones.
Jessica came to South Africa 1970,she worked with bands in PortElizabeth East London, and Johannesburg.
Met David Gresham in 72, and recorded Baby i love you, her first single which was a huge success with LM Radio, stayed on their charts for 26 weeks.
With her second single she recorded Sunday Monday Tuesday, and it became a number one hit, and earned her three gold records.
And so she became a household name, her next two singles Wake up Wake up and Waikki Man also Charted, and Waikki stayed nine weeks in Rhodesia in the charts.
Waikki Man took her to New Zealand where it had become a chart topper, she toured that country, along side Blue Mink.
Jessica was a frequent visitor to Salisbury Rhodesia, since 72, and became popular with people there, and the troopies at the time, she appeared on many TV shows, worked in some of the nightclubs, and toured with the Dealians, all over Rhodesia, so everyone knew her.
In South Africa, she appeared on Tv with Rolf Harris, toured with Dobie Gray,
Jessica lives in the UK now, and still sings and performs, she is recording a new album of old and new, and it will be released end of the year, so lets hope her fans will remember and enjoy.
