@926giants i never saw mays jump before the warning track, catch the ball, crash into the wall shatter his wrist and still be able to hang onto the ball and make the out. mays is lucky that jr was hurt through out the second half of his career because he would be a after thought. think about how many games jr missed and he still was only 30 home runs behiend mays.

@SgtHoagie1983 i will start off by saying willie mays was a great baseball player and he paved the way for a player like ken griffey jr. willie mays made plays back in the day that ken griffey jr could make in his sleep. that over shoulder catch that mays made that was impressive. but griffey made that catch time and time again and he made it look easy every time he did it.

I wish I could have gotten a chance to see him play in person. In my opinion he is the greatest player of the last 25-30 years. At least since Mays, Aaron and all of those greats retired in the early 70's. I live in pgh and cinnci did come thru, but that wasnt the tru Griff, we all know the true Griff resided in Seattle. Best I ever saw, best there ever was, best there ever will be.
